?̶?̶?̶?̶?̶?̶?̶?̶ & Berlin Trip

It’s—finally and hopefully—almost time to take another trip!

The recent reinstatement of the direct sleeper train from Brussels to Wien was too good of an opportunity to pass up, and a very convenient—and safe—way to get to Budapest, the main destination of this trip. Of course I will also spend some time in Wien itself, and I’ll be taking the long route back, spending a two more nights in Berlin, and a couple of hours in Hamburg.

Not surprisingly, this trip I’ll be collecting a couple of new stamps in my BrewDog Beer Visa again—at BrewDog Budapest and BrewDog St. Pauli—but this time the first stamp in my Mikkeller Passport as well. Of course, wherever I go, I’ll try to visit some local breweries and beer bars, and enjoy the the local specialities as much as I can!

The Hanging Man

We managed to have a look at Sigmund Freud the Hanging Man, before catching our train home. Again, we had three changes to make, but even the shortest one — eight minutes — was no problem.

A €21 train ride to Prague…

Made all our connections — although the last one was tighter than planned — so we’re now on the final stretch to Prague. Enjoying our first views of the Czech countryside, while the sun sets…

Departure Day

Our departure day was cold and rainy — completely the opposite of the previous days — so our daily cup of coffee at the Bonanza Roastery was a welcome break from our last few strolls through Berlin.
We were briefly tempted by the Oktoberfest tent in front of the Hauptbahnhof, but a Maß (liter) of Märzen lost its appeal after all those great beers we had over the last week.
Our first ICE train had a bit of a delay, barely leaving us time to grab something to eat in Köln. We’ll be crossing the border to Belgium soon, signalling the end of this Berlin trip.
However, some more — and better — photos will follow soon!

Arrival in Berlin

Arrived in Berlin on schedule. First order of business — after checking into our hotel — a bus tour, to get a feel for the layout of the city.
