Apparently the MegaBus Gold coach broke down, and has been replaced by what seems to be the oldest vehicle in the fleet… So no luxurious seats, no private berths, no WiFi, and not even power outlets for the passengers. And I was really looking forward to use the sleeper service for the first time!
That’ll be a call to customer services in the morning for a refund…
Update: After a short Twitter exchange, they promptly refunded me the MegaBus – MegaBus Gold price difference, so no complaints there.
Finally on British soil, with a two hour delay thanks to Eurotunnel. I’m afraid I’ll have to skip dinner in London then…

While I’m packing for my next Scottish adventure, here’s another photo of kilted me. This one was taken during the Highland games at Hoeilaart (I’m the guy on the right, obviously).
Unlike Highland games in Scotland and the rest of the world, in most Highland games in Belgium the contestants are competing in teams, or ‘clans’ as they like to call them… Here, the Tug o’ War is not a separate competition, but rather one of the most important events of the Highland Games.
