Putting the Scotch into Mackie’s Crisps with new Whisky flavour!
Personal Site & Travel Blog
To end the day: a nice meal at Mums Great Comfort Food and a whisky tasting at the Whiski Bar & Restaurant.
At Mr Ben I found a kilt jacket I quite like: Harris tweed, nice grey satin lining, probably from the late forties, early fifties. I found a nice brown leather pre-war sporran as well, but it needs some repair work.
To celebrate those great finds – and because I haven’t had any whisky on this trip yet – I’m now at The Pot Still enjoying a pre lunch dram: a Royal Salute 21 years old.

Sounds very familiar… 🙂
Not exclusively Scottish though!
Last night I went to a ceilidh and got super drunk and danced traditional Scottish dances, (badly though)
One of the dances was called the Gay Gordon’s which involved a lot of spinning and after it I was sick cos I span much.
That’s why I usually don’t drink (much) alcohol until after the dancing is over… 🙂
Especially avoid the Orcadian Strip The Willow when you had a few too many!
