Changeover in London

As we often do, we enjoyed our last British drinks — and a burger — at BrewDog Camden.
The Eurostar terminal was even more crowded than usual this time, and like on our way here, they’ve changed our seats last minute. 😢 Oh well, it’s only a short ride, and we’ll be home soon.

Cardiff – Day 5

Last day in Cardiff, so it was time to pack our bag and check out. We didn’t have anything planned anymore, so we had a leisurely breakfast at The Plan Cafe, a last coffee at The Little Man Coffee Co., and — since BrewDog Cardiff apparently only opens at 4 pm on Mondays — a couple of beers at smallBAR, which we both agreed on probably is the best bar in Cardiff!
The train arrived with a small delay, but we expect to arrive in London on time. Fingers crossed!

Cardiff – Day 4

Our last full day in Cardiff started in museums again. First we visited the National Museum, then — after coffee at Uncommon Ground The Cardiff Story. In the afternoon we finally made it to the Tiny Rebel bar, and the weather even allowed us to sit on the terrace! Our last dinner was at the Cosy Club, where it was a whole lot quieter than last time we tried to get in.

Cardiff – Day 3

After breakfast at Servini’s, we spent a drizzly Saturday morning at St Fagans National History Museum. An American lunch at The New York Deli and a coffee at Outpost Coffee & Vinyl were to prepare us for the main event of the day: a visit to the Tiny Rebel brewery!

Cardiff – Day 2, the evening

After dinner at the Grazing Shed — we learned from yesterday 😉— we had some more beers at The City Arms — a bit old fashioned, but a nice selection of beers anyway — Zerodegrees — big, loud and only average beers — and smallBAR — definitely need to go back to try some other beers on the menu!

Cardiff – Day 2 continued

In the Castle Arcade we quickly found what we were looking for: Madame Fromage, for a Welsh rarebit and some cheese soup.
After lunch we visited the best known landmark of the city, often used as a filming location: Cardiff Castle.
To conclude the afternoon, we went to BrewDog Cardiff again.

Cardiff – Day 2

Our second day started — after a light breakfast and coffee at KIN + ILK — at the Doctor Who Experience. After this summer it will close its doors permanently, so it was our last chance to visit. It’s a pity cause it’s a kind of “Mecca” for Doctor Who fans. Thereafter we went on the Official Filming Locations tour around Cardiff Bay. For lunch we headed to the Castle Arcade.

Cardiff – Day 1

The first (half) day in Cardiff. After checking in at our hotel, we visited BrewDog Cardiff and did the tourist bus tour before anything else. Because we were ahead on schedule, we did a tasting at the Crafty Devil’s Cellar before dinner. Not our smartest idea… 😉

Getting there…

Getting there is half the fun, they say. Especially if you can take a break halfway, for coffee and an overdue brunch. Java U is the perfect spot for such a break, conveniently located just outside Paddington station.

Cardiff Trip

We’ll be leaving soon for another trip to the UK. This time however, we’ll be going to a country we haven’t been to yet: Wales. More specifically, we’ll be discovering Cardiff.

Places to visit, eat and drink are selected, all necessary or useful apps are at the ready on their dedicated homescreen…

Of course, it’s purely coincidental that we’re going now, just before the Doctor Who Experience will be closing down… 😉
