A quick visit to BrewDog Soho, and then continue to the last bar new to us: BrewDog Seven Dials.
Then the last visit of the day for the badge; BrewDog Clerkenwell.
We arrived mere minutes after they opened, but the welcome couldn’t have been warmer! We had some pizza to prepare us for an evening of beer, later topped up with some crack fries in the most western bar, BrewDog Shepherds Bush.
BrewDog Camden just underwent a ten day refurbishment, but luckily for us, it reopened tonight, reason for a big party. Unfortunately, they had some trouble with a few beers on tap, and the stamp was nowhere to be found…
The last bar of the day is the first one we hadn’t actually visited before: BrewDog Angel. In this bar there are some home brew kits one can use to brew their own beer, but for the occasion of a Two Tribes Tap Takeover, a professional brewer had taken over the mash paddle. Even before we had our drinks, we were given the grand tour, and invited to participate in the brewing process.
We arrived in Prague perfectly on time, so — after an explanation half in Czech — we could leave our stuff at the AirBnB, and go for dinner. Kantýna proved to be the perfect choice after such a long day, providing us us with plenty of proteins. After that, we had to start visiting the craft beer bars in Prague, since there are so many of them…
It seems I somehow never posted anything about my Köln trip. So when I found out about this a couple of years later, I decided to delve into my photo archive, and publish at least a couple of photos of that trip!
Most of my trips revolve around craft beer, or at least include some beer bars or breweries. Köln is a bit different: very traditional, and the city only had one craft beer bar when we visited… What the city did have, and stil has, is Kölsch! So of course, on the evening of our arrival, we went to one of the best places to drink it: Brauhaus Päffgen!
The second day we started in the Wallraf-Richartz Museum.
After Himmel un Äd for lunch at Peters Brauhaus, and a visit to the Römisch-Germanisches Museum (no photos), we visited the only craft beer bar in Köln: Crafbeer Corner Coeln.
We enjoyed dinner—Kotelett mit Kartoffelsalat—at Lommerzheim.
On the last day, we had some Currywurst for lunch, and after some more sightseeing, a beer at the Gaffel am Dom. We ended our trip with some Bratwurst mit Kartoffelsalat at Max Stark.
The first (half) day in Cardiff. After checking in at our hotel, we visited BrewDog Cardiff and did the tourist bus tour before anything else. Because we were ahead on schedule, we did a tasting at the Crafty Devil’s Cellar before dinner. Not our smartest idea… ?
